ACICA Cooperation Agreements
ACICA has more than 30 cooperation agreements with arbitration institutions and associations all over the world. In addition, ACICA has a more substantial cooperative relationship with the organisations who are members of the Asia Pacific Regional Arbitration Group (APRAG).
Within Australia, ACICA operates in close co-operation with the Australian Commercial Dispute Centre ('ACDC'). This relationship enables the two organisations to work together on promoting alternative dispute resolution and offering an efficiently administered full range of commercial dispute resolution services. ACICA focuses on international disputes and ACDC on domestic disputes.
ACICA and ACDC are the only Australian delegated organisations as local representatives of the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), which is based in Washington DC. ACICA and ACDC provide local support and services for the resolution of ICSID disputes.
ACICA has a close working relationship with the Law Institute of Victoria ('LIV'), which is the peak body for lawyers in the state of Victoria. ACICA's Melbourne office is situated at the premises of the LIV and ACICA's President has spoken at seminars on international dispute resolution that have been hosted by the LIV.
ACICA also has a cooperation agreement with the Western Australian Institute of Dispute Management ('WAIDM'). The WAIDM was established to provide a centre of excellence in domestic and international dispute management, research and training and provide arbitration, mediation and negotiation services to the legal and business communities of Western Australia. ACICA's Perth office is hosted by the WAIDM its premises at Murdoch University.
