ACICA Rules 2016

The 2016 ACICA Arbitration Rules and Expedited Arbitration Rules were formally approved and adopted by the ACICA Board in November 2015 and came into effect on 1 January 2016.

Developments of note in the 2016 edition include provisions on consolidation and joinder and the conduct of legal representatives, along with the introduction of an expedited procedure for lower value or urgent matters commenced under the Arbitration Rules.

The 2016 edition has now been superseded by the 2021 edition of the Rules and will not apply unless the parties expressly specify the application of the 2016 edition in the arbitration agreement.
